Golf

In Sotogrande and the surrounding area golfers are spoilt for choice with a variety of courses to suit all handicaps. Local courses include Club de Golf Sotogrande, Valderrama, San Roque, Almenara, La Canada, Estepona and La Duquesa. Just to the east of Sotogrande lies the Costa del Sol which is home to over 60 golf courses.

Southern Spain caters for everyone whether you are an amateur or a pro. There are a wide range of golf academies and golf schools to help you improve your game with expert tuition.

Polo

Santa Maria Polo Club is located within the prestigious resort of Sotogrande and is home to some of the most famous international polo tournaments.

Sotogrande is by far the best polo venue in Europe due to the quality of its facilities and the size of the fields. Polo is a hugely popular sport in Spain and it is no surprise that Sotogrande is visited by players from all over the world every year. The superb facilities at Santa Maria Polo Club have well and truly put Sotogrande on the map. Santa Maria Polo Club has a polo academy with courses to suit complete beginners with no riding experience at all to players who wish to improve their riding and polo skills.

Sailing, Yachting & Water Sports

Yachting Sotogrande offers a wide variety of sailing and motor boat facilities to the boating enthusiast and has its very own established RYA sailing school and training centre with a qualified team of instructors.

Whether you are interested in catamarans, sailing yachts, motor cruisers or sport fishing, Yachting Sotogrande offers something for everyone and also offers the charter and hire of sailing and motor cruisers. Sotogrande has a wide range of water sports activities ranging from kayaking to windsurfing. Sotogrande beach offers windsurfing, kite-surfing, canoeing, and hobie cats for hire on the river.

Horse-riding

You really are spoilt for choice in Sotogrande with a state-of-the-art Equestrian Centre within the resort offering two riding schools, classes, guided horseback excursions and competitions. The superb Equestrian Centre also boasts a show jumping course – perfect for the competent rider. Sotogrande Equestrian Centre is one of the most well-known riding schools in Spain and has taught many professionals over the years. San Roque is also renowned for its superb horse-riding facilities and The San Roque Club has an Equestrian Centre of its own. This prestigious Centre in San Roque is the perfect place for keen horse-riders and offers great countryside treks in the local natural park of Tesorillo, San Enrique and Jimena.

Tennis

The Racquet Centre in Sotoogrande is located adjacent to The Cucurucho Beach Club and offers superb racquet sport facilities. For tennis or paddle lovers, the centre has various tennis and paddle courts and one glass-walled paddle ball court. Classes are available for players of all standards.

Octogono is located by El Octogono Beach and Tennis Club. It has six tennis courts (three fast surface, three clay and 5 paddle courts). It offers individual and group lessons, a sports shop and a bar where you can enjoy watching sports events while having a drink and socialising. In addition to The Racquet Centres, The Club de Golf Sotogrande has two championship tennis and paddle courts. Club members also benefit from the swimming pool and bar.

Beaches in Sotogrande

Some of the Coast’s best kept beaches can be found in and around Sotogrande itself. The local beaches are totally unspoilt and feature miles of beautiful white sand. The beaches in this part of southern Spain are some of the most Privacy and least crowded. Sotogrande only has two beach clubs with restaurants which sets its beaches apart from other coastal resorts. Only 30 minutes away you will find the stunning Atlantic beaches and sand dunes of Tarifa. Tarifa hosts the World Windsurfing Championships which offers all wind, sea, and sand related sports.
